Preparing for your spray tan...

Proper preparation is essential to making your tan look great. Good preparation makes the difference in how long your tan lasts. We recommend the following steps for a great spray tan experience.

• Exfoliate your skin several hours (preferably 24) prior to coming for your spray tan. Use a soap that does not contain oils.
• If you wax, do so the day before your spray tan. If you shave, be sure to do so 3-4 hours before being sprayed. Open pores could lead to ugly little brown dots!
• Make sure that you do not apply any creams, lotions, deodorants, or similar products before you get sprayed. You really want clean skin.  
• Bring or wear loose fitting clothing, such as exercise shorts or sweat pants, and a shirt to wear when you leave. Tight fitting clothing, including undergarments, may rub your spray tan off before it develops.
• We recommend that you schedule your spray tan later in the afternoon or evening so that your tan can develop while you sleep.

What to expect when being sprayed...

Once you arrive, you will sign in and get underway.  

• You can wear whatever you want. Many clients prefer the "no tan lines" look while others find tan lines appealing. Be mindful that some clothing may become stained during the spray process. We provide a hair cover to keep the solution from getting in your hair. Also, be mindful that clothing patterns will become imprinted on your skin when sprayed.
• You will be asked to apply a barrier cream to areas such as your hands, elbows, knees, and feet.  
• You will be sprayed with a prep-spray solution. This neutralizes the pH of your skin and helps eliminate any orange appearance.
• You will move into various positions so that two complete applications of spray solution can be applied.
• After you have been sprayed, you will blown you dry.
• You will be offered the opportunity to be sprayed with an all natural plant seed oil at no additional cost. This oil is absorbed very quickly and does not leave you feeling sticky or oily. This helps to moisturize your skin and helps your tan develop and it smells great!

Once your spray tan is complete, depending on which spray is used, you will want to take it easy for at least 4-6 hours and preferably 12 hours. It is usually better to get sprayed in the afternoon/evening and let your tan develop overnight. Be careful to not get wet. You will have instant color when you leave, but the solution needs time to develop on your skin in order to leave you looking great. It is recommended that you only rinse off at your first shower and do not shave.

For a continued great look, we recommend that you apply a good moisturizer twice a day beginning on the day after your spray tan. With good care, you can usually expect your tan to last 4-7 days.
